Tour description – Winter Tour to Korallgrottan
The Korallgrottan (Coral cave) Winter caving tour is an extreme winter experience, but perfect for every kind of visitor. The skiing/snowshoeing and the caving is easily adjusted to the ability of the participants and the weather.
We start the day by fitting the equipment and getting ready for todays adventure. Together we go by car to our selected starting place.
As we are skiing or walking, the guide tell you about the local history, nature and those who are living here. Maybe we are lucky to see reindeer or a lemming nearby, and hopefully some lynx or wolverine tracks!
The Korallgrottan cave opens up as we get closer, and we are welcomed by a 13 meter high frozen waterfall. By the cabin above the cave we have some Swedish “fika” before entering the underground world. You get all necessary caving equipment by the guide, who also shows you how to wear it.
In the cave, led by an experienced cave guide, we discover a new world! Although very dark, we find beautiful things down here, formed by water, both liquid and frozen.
Outside again we enjoy a good meal, cooked over an open fire. Then we ski or walk back to the road, where we end the day.
