We meet 9am at the farm Leipikvattnet, from where we hike three kilometres before reaching the karst landscape. At the end of our hike we’re reaching a small shelter, where we stop for a short rest with coffee and some snacks before entering the karst area. Now the adventure begins!
During the day we see dolines, sinkholes and siphons where the river disappears underground and shows up in diffenerent places. We enjoy our packed lunch and listen to the guide talking about the area’s unique geology and fantastic flora. We continue walking through the “Blind Valley” to Bjurälvsgrottan (Eng. “Bjurälvens cave”) and pass an ice cave and snow dolines. After a long day of hiking and learning about the flora and history of this area, we return to Leipikvattnet.
The trail contains footbridges and steep sections prepared with stairs. The tour can be tailored to the group’s abilities and preferences.
